POISONED APPLE CAKE POPS (TUTORIAL)

Finally, I managed to make something for Halloween and I’m pretty satisfied with the result.

I may not be able to be in Disneyland, but I least I can enjoy one of their Halloween treats!

I put this red velvet cake recipe, but you can use any cake leftovers, including the frosting.

Ingredients:
Cake:
150 g of all porpoise flour (5.3 oz.)
130 g of granulated sugar (4.6 oz.)
40 ml of vegetal oil
1 egg
1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
½ tablespoon of baking soda
120 ml of milk + ½ tablespoon of lemon juice
1 teaspoon of white vinegar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Red paste coloring

4 tablespoons (approx.) of cream cheese

Brown gum paste/fondant

Red and white candy melts

Cake pops sticks

1. With the gum paste/fondant make the apple sticks.

2. Preheat the oven at 170ºC (340ºF) and grease the mold.
Sift the flour and the cocoa and reserve.
Mix the milk with the lemon juice and leave it for 5 minutes.
Beat the eggs with the sugar and the vanilla, and when it gets foamy add the oil.
Add half of the dry ingredients and mix, then add the milk with the lemon juice.
Add the rest of the dry ingredients.
Now add the coloring and mix until homogeneous.
Finally, mix the soda and the vinegar and when it gets bubbly add it to the batter.
Bake for 35 minutes.
Take it off from the oven and let it cool down on a rack.

3. Once it’s cooled, blend it in a food processor.

4. Mix with the cheese little by little, until you can form little balls.

Melt the red candy melts.

From this point it’ll be useful somewhere to stick the cake pops, if you don’t have anything you can put 3 or 4 in a glass (it’s how I do it).

5. Make the little balls.

6. Deep a stick in the red candy melts and stick the stick (to the center) and refrigerate.

7. Cover the balls with red candy melts and 8. place the apple stick.

Melt the white candy melts.

9. And finally, using a piping bag with a rounded tip n. 2 make the part of the skull.

And they would be ready!

Better keep them refrigerated because of the cream cheese.
